I feel that people need to know a little about the person that is going to facilitate their ceremony; be it their wedding or other celebration.
Sharing your feelings on an up and coming important occasion can be daunting so please know that I am concluded to be a fit and proper person who is federal police checked and registered with the Attorney Generals Department in Canberra as a Civil Marriage Celebrant.
I came to live in Australia with my family in 1987. I left England for my new life of sun and sea. I embraced Adelaide and its shores and gained steady employment within a few months of my arrival. I spent sixteen years in finance with a large Adelaide company, and six years in the banking industry. I have worked in administration with a well-known charity and gave some of my time as a volunteer where we raised money for children with impairments.
I have been a Marriage Celebrant since 2009, and am a member of the South Australian Civil Marriage Celebrants Society.
A variety of services are available for events including but not limited to:
- Commitment Ceremonies
- Golden Wedding Anniversaries
- Name Givings
- Same-sex ceremonies
- Vow renewals
When a couple choose me to facilitate their wedding, my role is to make sure the marriage is legal.
I follow procedures according to The Marriage Act 1961. I do this professionally and with style. Be assured that I follow the steps that lead up to the day of the wedding and mailing the completed paperwork to Births, Deaths and Marriages where your marriage is registered.
Taking your vows is a precious moment and I want you to be confident that I will deliver a service that suits your personality. I welcome you to speak to me personally before making your choice of celebrant.
During our first meeting, we will talk about the content of your service. If you have no idea, don’t worry, I will guide you. I will write a service for you and show you for approval so you know what to expect.
A second meeting is required to sign a declaration that there is no reason why you cannot get married.
On your wedding day I will be at the location 20 minutes prior to the service. I will support you and guide you and present you with a copy of the service in stationery that matches your chosen colours.
Have your wedding ceremony done
professionally and with style.
To marry you must give a minimum of one month’s notice. We start the procedure by completing and signing The Notice of Intent to Marry. More commonly known as the NOIM. Once signed by either party, the marriage can take place one month later. Both parties must sign before the marriage, but in some cases, one party may be overseas or working away, so initially one signature is sufficient.
You and your partner must provide me with evidence of date and place of birth and identity.
If you have been married before, a certificate of divorce or death by your previous spouse must be provided before the marriage takes place.
Australia prohibits the marriage of same sex couples. However, I do not judge or show prejudice to couples in a genuine relationship. I am available to facilitate commitment ceremonies and celebrations alike to everybody.
I am happy to support any religious family requirements and incorporate into the ceremony as long as they do not interfere with the legally required procedures of the wedding ceremony.
I more than happy to travel within South Australia for any of my services. Anything outside the Adelaide suburbs may incur travel costs & accommodation if needed. South Australian regions include:
- Adelaide & Surrounding suburbs
- Adelaide Hills
- Barossa Valley
- Clare Valley
- Eyre Peninsula
- Fleurieu Peninsula
- Limestone Coast
- Kangaroo Island
- Yorke Peninsula
